What We’re Doing

We’ve joined the work God’s already doing in the city through His people with YWAM SF.

“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” — James 1:27

YWAM is a family of several ministries that build relationships with the homeless community, women and children facing injustice and exploitation, and new immigrants and their families — ministries that share the love of Jesus with the city.

We live in the Tenderloin, a neighborhood of San Francisco with a lot of poverty, drugs, alcohol and injustice.

Megan serves as an administrative assistant to the base directors. She coordinates meetings with community officials, plans special events, and does other cool things she was created to do — she’s pretty Type A. Shane is on the Communications team. He writes, photographs and designs up a slew a stuff that shares the story of what God is doing through YWAM SF. We also hit the streets to share the Good News by taking part in different outreaches throughout the city.

When We’re Doing

Now! We arrived in San Francisco on September 30.

How We’re Doing

Very well, thanks! No, really. Since God first called us to missions in January 2012, we’ve given away or sold most everything we owned. We’ve got it down to the stuff we need for a micro-studio in the city.

All we need now is prayer. And, yeah, money.

But here’s the thing: if we can get a group of people praying for us, we think that’ll solve the money problem opportunity.

The last thing we want to do is guilt people into financially partnering with us. We know God provides, especially for things He’s asking you to do. We know He has a group of partners who will see the privilege and blessing of sowing seeds in God’s Kingdom. If you’re one of those people, check out info about partnering with us.
